About the Project On January 3, 2026, the athletics season kicked off at the Jānis Daliņš Stadium with the traditional "Valmiera–Valga" competition. This year marked the beginning of a new tradition: a team classification for the U18 and U20 groups, with winners receiving a custom-made traveling trophy commissioned by the "Valmiera NEXT" society.

Custom Wood & Epoxy Traveling Trophy – "Valmiera NEXT"

Design and Craftsmanship The goal was to create a trophy that is both durable for long-term use and visually striking.

Fusion of Materials: The body of the award is crafted from solid wood, representing strength and tradition. This is seamlessly bonded with a cast epoxy resin base. The frosted, white epoxy creates a modern "ice-like" effect, contrasting beautifully with the warm wood tones.
Details & Finishing: The branding is applied using high-quality color UV printing. To emphasize the international nature of the event, the trophy features raised acrylic cutouts in the shapes of Latvia and Estonia.
Perpetual Design: As a traveling trophy, it features dedicated gold-colored nameplates on the side for engraving winners' names from 2025 through 2036.

This project showcases our ability to combine traditional woodworking with modern resin casting techniques to create unique, high-end awards.
